When does an
employee become eligible under our group plan? |

An employee will become
eligible for your group plan upon completion of the waiting period. This waiting period is a designated
time that was indicated on your group application when your health insurance
was set up.. For example, if your
groups waiting period is 90 days and you have an employee commence employment
on March 2nd, 90 days from the date of employment would be June 2nd. Generally, the provision on your
policy will state the effective date for the newly hired employee to be the
“first of the month following the waiting period”. This means that, in our example, the
employee’s effective date would be July 1st. Similarly, termination of an insured
takes place at the end of the month.
If an employee ends employment on September 2nd, their
termination on your plan will take place as of September 30th. Please contact us for the specifics on
